Back in 1928 the local vicar The Rev Bruce Cornford said to some of his friends why don’t we start a motorcycle club!  and that is how the Waterlooville Motorcycle Club was started.

Back then they started to run trials-scrambles and road runs on a Sunday. Over the years the club has put on trials and Motor cross events with International participating riders coming from every corner of the world.

Times have changed and our situation is that we no longer have the membership numbers to run such events.  However we are still here and welcome any person who has an interest in Motor bikes and taking part in any of our events we sponsor.

The focus of our club is on classic motor bikes but a great many of our members have modern bikes for both work and leisure.

I have endeavored to lead and encourage all events our members take part in

I have compiled a list of all the known club Presidents since the clubs formation way back in 1928.  There are a few gaps which we have not been able to fill…….so if you know of any one or have any details which might help us to complete our club history……please get in touch with me.

We are interested in any information regarding the history of the club,  names or photographs of our past presidents, especially during the years 1938 to 1956.  This will help  us to complete or history portfolio.

Any person who has an interest in motor bikes new or old could come along to our club meeting on a Wednesday evening at the Forest of Bear public house in Denmead from 8-30 onwards.

Our regular scheduled events are ride outs on most Sundays, and for those who have extra time on their hands we very often have one on a Wednesday morning.  The rides take in the best Hampshire country side has to offer.  Many of the routes we take are not used very much by the normal traffic and the pace is kept to the slowest machine in the event.

I look forward to meeting any new members.

John Jenkins.

Club President.
